Configuring notifications

Step 7 of the setup checklist. Email alerts are on by default for every staff account — this step is about reviewing what you and your team actually receive, not turning something on for the first time.

What's on this page

From Settings → Notifications, each staff member controls their own preferences:

  • Email notifications — on or off, plus a frequency (instant, or a digest).
  • Push notifications — for the mobile app.
  • Quiet hours — a start and end time, in your own timezone, during which non-urgent notifications hold until morning.
  • A per-type grid — payment received, payment late, maintenance created or assigned, lease expiring, new message, and more — with email and push toggled independently for each one.

Because this is a per-person setting, visiting it once is what marks the checklist step done — there's no organization-wide switch to flip.

SMS is off during the beta

The Notifications step's second link, SMS, shows “off during beta” and opens the SMS settings page in its locked state: “Not available during beta — your existing messaging service remains your system of record.” This is a platform-wide setting during the beta period, not something that can be switched on per organization yet — nothing about how you currently text tenants or vendors needs to change because of it.

Common questions

Does turning my own notifications down affect my team? No — every staff member's preferences are their own. Reviewing this page for yourself doesn't change what anyone else on your team receives.

I don't want a flood of email on day one — what should I turn down first? Switch Email Frequency from instant to a digest, and turn off push for anything you don't need on your phone in real time. The per-type grid lets you keep the ones that matter (payment late, maintenance assigned) instant while digesting the rest.
